We couldn't agree on a movie so we went to the beach

Gerda's daughter Carol was here for the week of Gerda's 91st birthday, which meant it was our week to catch-up on over due date nights! Friday night we were trying to find a movie to go see, Quintin didn't want to see Magic Mike, so we decided to go the the beach! We stayed for the first part of Gerda's birthday party then left Saturday afternoon.
    
 We arrived in Oceanside, CA just as the sun was setting on Saturday.
Quintin was anxious to get his toesies in the sand.

 We ate dinner at Ruby's, a little diner on the pier.

 Fish & chips yummm.

 Yay together time!  We got the the beach early Sunday morning and relaxed. ahhh

 Playing in the ocean!  Quintin washed off all his sunscreen!

 We rented a pedal boat and pedaled around the harbor.  We saw pelicans and crabs and even a sea witch  lion!

           At about 2pm we were both a bit sunburnt and tired, but we didn't want the trip to just be over, so we took a detour that actually added a lot of time to our trip, to Joshua Tree National Park.  

 It was a very pretty drive, lots of Joshua trees and they all look so different, but we didn't get home till really late! Can't quite decide if it was worth it.
